Most bid errors are not caused by bad pricing. They come from leaving a question unanswered, attaching the wrong version of a document, or pricing a line item that the buyer's scope actually excluded. These are the kinds of gaps that look obvious in hindsight but are easy to miss when you have been working on a bid for an hour. The Bid Quality Coach reads your entire bid before you submit it and tells you exactly what is strong, what could be better, and what is missing.

Why this matters

A buyer evaluating ten bids side by side will notice an incomplete one immediately. The coach gives you a second opinion from the buyer's perspective before the buyer sees your work. A few minutes of revision based on that feedback can be the difference between landing in the shortlist and being filtered out in the first pass.

When to use it

The Bid Quality Coach is available on the Review step of the bid wizard. You can run it any time you are on that step, including before you have finished all sections. Running it early when your Bill of Quantities is complete but before you have added attachments will still surface pricing gaps or missing questionnaire answers.

The most effective moment is when you believe the bid is complete but before you click Submit bid.

How to run the coach

  1. Reach the Review step and click Bid Quality Coach

Complete the earlier wizard steps, Details, Bill of Quantities, Questionnaire, Attachments, Notes, then navigate to Review. The Bid Quality Coach button sits above the submit actions. Click it to start the analysis. The coach reads your entire bid and returns its findings on the same page.

Each run deducts AI credits from your balance. You can check your remaining credits in Settings. All plans can purchase additional AI credits when you need more.

  2. Read the three feedback sections

    The coach returns three sections:

    • Strengths lists what your bid does well and what a buyer is likely to notice positively. These are signals that your bid is on the right track.
    • Areas to improve points to specific parts that could be clearer, more complete, or better positioned. These are improvements that are likely worth making.
    • Missing items flags anything the buyer asked for that your bid did not address. These are the most important findings because they directly reduce your chances of being shortlisted.

Work through the Missing items section first before acting on Areas to improve.

    Missing items
Question 3 (payment terms preference) has no answer. This is marked as required.
  3. Make your changes and re-run

After reading the feedback, use the edit buttons on the Review step to jump back to the relevant section. Fix or add what the coach flagged, then return to Review.

You can run the coach again to confirm that your updates resolved the issues. Each re-run is a fresh analysis of the current state of your bid. There is no limit to how many times you can run it on the same bid, but each run uses AI credits.

If the coach flags an improvement you disagree with, you do not have to act on it. The coach is a structured second opinion, not a mandatory checklist. Use your judgment about what serves the buyer's request best.

  4. Submit once you are satisfied

When the coach gives you a clean result or you are satisfied with where the bid stands, click Submit bid (or Submit for Approval if your team requires internal sign-off). The buyer receives your bid and it moves to Active status on your Bids page.

What good looks like

  • Run the coach when you believe the bid is complete, not as the first thing you do. It gives better feedback when most sections are filled.
  • Focus on Missing items before anything else. An unanswered required question can disqualify your bid regardless of how competitive your pricing is.
  • After fixing Missing items, address any Areas to improve that take less than five minutes. Small additions to the Notes field or a clearer answer to an open-ended question often get flagged here.
  • Re-run once after making significant changes. A fix in one section occasionally reveals a gap in another.
